Tiffany’s Bar & Bistro is seeking a skilled and creative Pastry Cook with experience in Mediterranean desserts and pastry production. We are looking for someone who understands balance, texture, and presentation — and who can execute both traditional and modern plated desserts with consistency.

This position requires precision, discipline, and a strong team mindset.

Position Overview

The Pastry Cook is responsible for daily dessert production, prep, plating, and maintaining quality standards. You will work closely with the Executive Chef to develop seasonal desserts and refine presentation for an upscale dining experience.

This role requires flexibility — you must be a team player and willing to assist in other kitchen roles when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Pastry Production & Execution

  • Prepare Mediterranean desserts

  • Execute plated desserts during service

  • Maintain consistency in flavor and portion control

  • Prepare components in advance (creams, crunch elements, reductions)

Kitchen Standards

  • Follow recipes accurately

  • Maintain clean and organized pastry station

  • Label and store products properly (FIFO system)

  • Monitor pastry inventory

  • Follow DC health and sanitation standards


Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–2 years pastry experience in a restaurant or bakery

  • Knowledge of Mediterranean desserts preferred

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Flexible and dependable

  • Able to work evenings and weekends

  • Positive attitude and professional work ethic

Sous Chef

Full-Time | 50–60 Hours Per Week

Tiffany’s Bar & Bistro is seeking an experienced, reliable, and passionate Sous Chef to join our upscale Mediterranean-inspired kitchen team. This is a leadership position requiring strong culinary skills, organization, and the ability to manage both line operations and kitchen team performance.

This role requires 50–60 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.

Position Overview

The Sous Chef works directly with the Executive Chef and is responsible for:

  • Overseeing daily kitchen operations

  • Leading and managing line cooks

  • Maintaining food quality and consistency

  • Ensuring prep, service, and closing procedures are executed properly

  • Upholding health and safety standards

This is a hands-on leadership role — you must be comfortable running the line while managing the team.

Key Responsibilities

Kitchen Leadership

  • Supervise and train line cooks and prep cooks

  • Lead service during busy shifts

  • Ensure all dishes meet plating and quality standards

  • Maintain positive, professional kitchen culture

  • Step in wherever needed during service

Line Cook Responsibilities (Hands-On Role)

  • Work sauté, grill, garde manager, or expo as needed

  • Execute recipes accurately and consistently

  • Maintain station organization and cleanliness

  • Follow prep lists and daily production schedules

  • Ensure proper food storage and labeling

Operations & Management

  • Assist with inventory control and ordering

  • Monitor food cost and minimize waste

  • Ensure proper portion control

  • Maintain sanitation standards (DC health code compliant)

  • Conduct quality control on all incoming products

Prep & Production

  • Oversee daily prep production

  • Ensure par levels are maintained

  • Manage freezer and walk-in organization

  • Maintain proper FIFO system

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in an upscale or high-volume kitchen

  • Prior leadership experience preferred

  • Strong understanding of Mediterranean cuisine is a plus

  • Ability to work 50–60 hours per week

  • Strong English communication skills

  • Must be organized, disciplined, and detail-oriented

  • Able to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods
